Greener Europe with PdC
Given the new EU 2030 objectives for the use of renewable technologies, the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA) has demonstrated in a survey that the use of heat pump systems allows cutting gas consumption by 30%, resulting in both economic and environmental benefits. Therefore, whatever the future of the energy market, renewable heat pump technologies represent a practical and economically convenient solution. Europe calls on manufacturers of heating and air conditioning systems for a clear commitment and concrete action to help significantly reduce Europe’s dependence on gas imports from Russia. The results emerging from the survey highlight how the need to import fuel could be completely overcome with the introduction of 54 million new heat pump systems, a goal that the association hopes to achieve within the next 15 years.
At the same time, EHPA estimates that the growth of the heat pump market could play a key role in achieving the European Commission’s energy objectives for 2030, with a potential decrease in energy demand of 37 Mtoe and a reduction in emissions of 181 Mt, also creating 333,772 new jobs.
Heat pump systems have widely demonstrated their reliability and efficiency in heating, cooling and domestic hot water production in both residential, commercial and industrial applications. As a leading company in the sector, Daikin is constantly engaged in research and development activities, with the aim of making cutting-edge technologies available which, thanks to ever-increasing efficiency, can contribute to the achievement of total energy independence from fossil fuels. Two results of this technological effort are represented by the new VRV IV range, in the very recent heat recovery version and the Rotex branded HPU Hybrid system. This is the first hybrid heat pump system that best combines heat pump technology with that of a latest generation condensing boiler, with an efficiency 35% higher than a traditional system.
